I see your point, but normally when a SS is playing back, he isn't gonna throw home.  He is gonna throw to 1st or throw to 3rd if the runner from 2nd tries to get to 3rd.
I obviously want to get the game tied, but I don't want a runner in scoring position getting thrown out either.

they were going to get an out somewhere on the play.  i'll trade the runner at third for dyson at first to bank the run any day.

Well, that's where our viewpoints just differ.

What a rough ridin' crap show.  Runners at second and third with no outs and fail to score a rough ridin' run.  If that doesn't sum up this shitty season nothing does.

Also said he thought volkie had one more out left in him and wanted to give Duffy a clean sixth.

I still firmly believe a good run is coming and we still have plenty of good players. I just hope we aren't so buried behind Chicago that a good run only helps us with wildcard position. We're still 10 games from the 40 game mark, but we are probably hoping for 21-19 or 22-18 as a high mark right now. Last year we were 26-14.

At what point do we accept the window has closed and start blowing this thing up?

Dayton may make some minor moves this year, but he won't blow it up. He'll probably give this group a shot next year with perhaps a few changes.

If we are below .500 at the all star break and lots of games back in the division and wildcard, freaking out will be warranted, but I don't think we will be. The organization will probably just believe we're on the verge of a 2014 repeat if that happens.

We had our 1st bad stretch later in the year last season.  We were 30-23 at one point, which is 1 game away from the 1/3 mark.  We won't have the same record at the 40 game mark as last season, but if we started playing decent ball, we could be close to where we were at the 1/3 mark of 2015.

Our offensive production has to be better and get going. Even winning 12 of our first 18 games, we only ave 3.9 runs per game.  About 2/3 of MLB teams are ave more than 3.9 runs.  We got to that 12-6 record getting good starts from our top 3 pitchers and doing a few "Royal things" to win

Now just 32 runs in this 3-9 stretch.  And we have had 5 poor outings from those same 3 pitchers.
Altogether, we are scoring the fewest runs per game of any AL team.

Chris pitches tomorrow night at Yankee Stadium. Lots of fly balls that could end up in the stands. Some poor starts this season. I'd like to be optimistic, but it's hard.

Watched the replay several times last night (the Cuthbert getting thrown out play).  Not only did he hesitate and get a bad jump, his lead from the bag during the pitch was also terrible.  I meen when Lindor touches the ball with his glove, I paused my tv.  Dyson is almost halfway to 1st (probably 48-50 feet from 1st base).  Cuthbert at that same moment is about 55 feet from home.    He should have been 12-15 feet farther down the line.  No way Dyson should be 5 feet closer to 1st that CC is to home.

Now we probably only tie the game that inning, as Lindor probably throws to first getting Dyson out if CC is 15 feet farther down the line. Colon probably doesn't score from 2nd (Esky Cain did make outs).

Running into outs, not making clean defensive plays (thus costing us an out in the inning).... These are things that our Opponents normally do and we take advantage. The script has been flipped too much in these first 30 games.

2nd and 3rd with no outs should be 2 runs for a good team.

I guess I was wrong about us ripping off a ridiculous number of consecutive wins.

2nd and 3rd with no outs should be 2 runs for a good team.

True, and really that is the ideal situation for a hitter. It should mean no double play, basically putting the ball into play on the right side of the field or out of the infield scores a runner and advances the other. It should be the best thing to happen, but, alas, not always.

The only turning around CY will be doing will be to left field while watching another HR leave the park.
