i've asked this several times in this thread, it seems as though many here either have their heads in the sand or are unwilling to answer the question- are the royals going to suck this season?

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

No. Can't see them sucking. If enough central teams step up this year, they could miss the playoffs. But they'll be above .500. Our bargain bin starters seem to be of great value in the post steroid game.

Starting pitching could be a concern.

They will not suck. However finishing 3rd behind the Indians and Tigers won't surprise me. They still have the best core group of players in the AL Central, and the best bullpen. Hosmer is still only 26, Moose is still only 27, Salvy is still only 25 and Cain/Gordon/Escobar should still be in their prime offensive production years. I anticipate more runs this season.

The starting pitching is a concern of course, but there is more depth than last season. Having Dillon Gee, Danny Duffy, Chien Ming Wang in position to move into the rotation if needed should be a positive.

Even if Herrera and Davis don't have the same kind of season they've had, the bullpen should still be the best in the American League (or at least up there with the Yankees.)

There are a lot of good teams in the AL, so it won't shock me if they don't win 90 games, but going below 81 wins would shock me.

They won't suck.

I will be very disappointed with this club if they don't at least win the Central.

The run support for Ourdano was pretty amazing.

"Hey bud, we're down 7 in the middle of the 3rd because you are working on your stuff? No worries. 8 run bottom of the 3rd coming right up!"

What if that happens on the reg? What if we hit 500 home runs this year? I bet Hosmer hits 80 home runs. That will be a lot, but he can do it. Moose will probably only hit 70, but what if 1/3 of them are opposite field!? Will Salvy hit more than Moose? MAYBE!

This is going to be a pretty fun year. Probably going to have the most no-hitters from multiple pitchers ever. I bet we do that at least 5 times. (I was going to say 10, but that would be a stretch!) Just think, we are going to have at least 5 no-hitters this year that involve multiple pitchers! That doesn't count the 3 that Ourdano is going to get on his own.

Plus, in the middle of all of this, Denis Clemente is going to hit back to back running tear drop floaters to win the championship in TBT!

WHAT A SUMMER!

Our starting pitching and relief pitching should be better than they were last year. We are a little bit worse lineup-wise compared to when we had Zobrist, but roughly equal to what we had for the first half of last year when we were still kicking the everliving crap out of the rest of MLB. This team should build a huge lead by the all star break yet again, and hopefully we hold the right cards to trade for the pieces we need so that this time next year, we are talking about a potential three-peat.

do you have a feel in terms of zoby'z desire to come back to the royals when we need him this season?  is it even possible?

You guys been reading Rany's top playoff moments? I'm trying to guess what his top ten will be. My hunch is it will be some combo of:

1. Salvy's walkoff in the WC game.
2. Gordon's HR in Game 1 off of Familia
3. Dyson's steal of 3rd in the WC game
4. Hosmer's dash home in Game 5 of the World Series
5. Final out of WS game 5 in New York
6. Final out of Game 4 of the '14 ALCS (Moose to Hos, "Kansas City, You've got a World Series")
7. Final out of Game 6 of the '15 ALCS (Moose to Hos again with runner on 2nd and 3rd. Damn. That was such a tense moment)
8. Cain scoring from 1st on Hosmer's single in the 8th inning of Game 6 ALCS after the rain delay. (I can't overstate how mad I was during that delay. Madson staying in to face Bautista, I just can't.....)
9. Hosmer's triple in the WC game
10. Morales ground ball gets through and 2 score to tie the game in ALDS game 4 in Houston.

There's like 20 other moments that could be reasonable though. What do you guys think?

So, it looks like I guessed 9 out of 10 of these right being the top 10 moments (still not sure the order). The only one I think I missed was it looks like he's putting Hosmer's ALDS Game 2 homer up there and the last out against the Orioles in '14 is not.

There are just too many variables to say at this point. The Cubs would have to fail spectacularly for him to be a possibility, imo.

Ben Zobrist will not be traded this season regardless of how the cubs do.

If the Jays are in bad shape I would expect he'll be traded, but I don't see the Royals adding Bautista to their clubhouse
