you don't have to just switch pitcher for pitcher, you can switch him with any position in the field. so if you do two subs you can put the pitcher in a different batting spot

i liked the idea about letting the batter advance on wild pitches better.

i bet it would produce a lot of doubles with catchers making wild throws to first in a hurry

this is well stated. teams are too passive. even the royals are, but they are much less passive than most.
