Saberhagen's twitter is great. Its cool to see former great Royals just be fans like the rest of us.

I hope Rios hits like 3 home runs today.

Quote
Asked later if he had ever taken more enjoyment out of a home run, Rios responded plainly: "It's just good to give the team a little bit of room to play with."

That's it?

"Yeah," Rios said with a smirk, "it was good."

they are not starting Price, but Gibbons said he is available today out of the pen if necessary

Oh, that makes sense. I assumed sys meant he was starting and I was looking everywhere for that. Throwing him from the pen in an emergency in a do or die game for them seems a little more logical.

i did mean that.  he was listed as the starter on espn.com at the time i posted.

fascinating

This is great

Best I can tell, the process seems to go like this: Escobar walks to plate. Escobar dons sign (fastball, plate, wink wink). Pitcher delivers pitch. Pitch is fastball. Escobar sees fastball. Location: irrelevant. Escobar swings at fastball. Escobar hits fastball. Escobar runs, safe. Runs some more, scores. Royals win. Happy.

That's pretty much Ned's explanation for doing it too, which is even better.

So he can still be in uniform and in the dugout?

Weird

yeah last year I remember Ibanez being there throughout, even though he wasn't active. Same with Hoch. Its cool that the DL guys (Collins, Vargas, Holland) are there too

You can probably count on some stares and lemme-at-'ems this series. Let's just hope Cueto doesn't kick anyone.

I'm sure you did it for good reasons (and got a really good price).

centre

God it's so annoying being around that 24/7 for 5 months. I could get used to km/h. I could even stomach the "soorry" and "aboot". Heck, even their monopoly money I was able to get used to. But seeing "centre" is one of the most annoying harmless thing about being up there. Mostly cause it makes me want to say "cen-TRE" instead of "center" when I see it. How the hell you get a "ter" sound from "tre"? Stupid canadians.

where's the best place to get WS tickets? stub hub?  royals.com?  i didn't realize they were already for sale.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

They aren't for the general public, but season ticket holders already have theirs bought if they want them.
