somebody please explain the Lance McCullers backpack Hosmer neck chop thing.

https://twitter.com/its_me_cassie/status/654542092526592000

this is a top top moment for me. wow. fatality.

So, the first motion is him putting on a backpack? And then the neck choppy thing? And that made sense to everyone?

Yeah I still don't get it either.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

what is there to get?  it's a thing he did, and the royals made fun of him for it.

you guys are really driving me nuts.

the backpack and neck chop are unrelated.

so mccullers had just ended an epic inning. the "backpack" was basically a reactionary "eff yeah let's go!" and then the neck chop was directed at the royals: "game over MF'rs"

so last night when the royals had the game in hand, they just mimicked mccullers to rub his nose in it and make him feel worse.

Do we know they are unrelated?  I like to think he was mocking hosmer and moose.  It makes it better when we mock him back.

every single thing about that HR was fantastic. the swing, the drop, the skip to my lou, the CF Gomez just turning taking a step and watching it, Rusty's arms raised to the heavens, Kendrys then spreads arms wide rounding 1st, the guy in the stands going legs up trying to get the ball, the backpack head chop, and half the damn team out of the dugout to party.

so awesome

there is a "running around like a chicken in a back pack with its head chopped off" joke in there. It just seems too wordy.

That night, Kelce met Eric Hosmer, the 25-year-old Royals star who scorched the AL playoffs. A few teammates had told him that he and Hosmer would get along. They were right. At one point in the night, Hosmer’s own personalized celebration came up. “I asked him what it was,” Kelce says, “and he said, ‘It’s just throwing your boys in the backpack, tossing it on, and going to work.’” When Kelce asked if he could mix it into his post-touchdown repertoire, Hosmer insisted. Hours after Kelce threw on the backpack in
a 24-10 win against the Jets in Week 9, a congratulatory text from Hosmer popped up on his phone.

I think he was completely mocking Hos/Moose because they do the backpack thing all the time after big hits.

Also Kc royals October crowds are by and large pretty good looking. Especially after seeing the disgusting Houston crowd.

the rolling his shoulders thing is something he did all night long.  like almost after every pitch.  i think his shoulders don't fit properly or something.

I could be mistaken, but I thought of happy sys when he made that catch.

Not just for the win, obviously, but because it feels like something he'd be happy about.

i was pretty happy, although i think i would have been happier if dyson had been put in and had made the catch.
