So who pitches 1 and 2?

I'd say Volqy vs Price -- Game 1
Ventura vs Estrada -- Game 2

Cueto vs Stroman Game 3

Very likely.

I'm really happy we defeated such a punchable facey team

the punchability quotient on the Astros is nothing compared to our next opponent

Yeah it was a good dress rehearsal. Astros are a good scout team for the jays, facewise

Watching the postage on fskc now. Ventura seems like a fun guy to have on the team.

An ALCS against Toronto brings back memories for me.  I am sure I have told this story before...

In early October 1985 my grandpa had a really serious heart attack, and we thought he was going to die.  They did really invasive open heart surgeries back then.

Every night during the ALCS we would pile into my Dad's van and make the trek down I70 to Junction City to visit at the hospital, and then back.  We'd listen to the ALCS every night in the van.  The Royals got down early to the Blue Jays in the series, but came back.  I'd lie there in the back of that van listening to the games and hoping that my Grandpa wouldn't die, and that the Royals would win.   It was a really anxious time for me.  George Brett ended up being the series MVP, and to me he took on god-like status during that series.  My Grandpa lived another 15 years and the Royals won that series against Toronto.

Feels really weird that it was 30 years ago.  Wow.

Holy crap guys!  I'm enjoying this run even more than last year.  Last year everything was new so it was such a blur...this year soaking it in.

So much fun out there tonight.

That's why we will win. We know scoring runs has nothing to do with wanting to fight or throwing things. These Royals are professionals, not pretenders.

What a fun night. The emotion of seeing the KCFD families on the field pregame, the win, Cueto coming through, and celebrating a return to the ALCS.

I won't get all churchy on all y'all, but I loved Pete's post (Pete is a great IRL person FYI). What winning and losing, uniting around the pride of a city or a school brings out in us, resonates with something deep inside all people. There's more to this world than what we see, and its great to get a glism of it now and then.

go royals.

Cueto. I mean.... Cueto guys. He retired 19 straight. Wow. Regardless of what happens going forward, the trade was worth it. We CAN win the World Seires with this team

Also, I was at all postseason home games last year, and all 3 in the ALDS this year, and that was maybe the most electic crowd I've ever seen at the K. only rivals would be the Wild Card game and World Series Game 6 last year. There was the emotion of the pregame ceremony with the KCFD families, the Cueto factor, the comeback, etc. It was really fun.
