Ventura is such a stud, you guys. Just in time, for the playoffs, too. :Woohoo:

He and Duff both show potential. If they are gm 3/4 starters....they will be backed up by Medlen and either Guts/Young if they look shaky thru 4 or something. That's a nice problem to have... If they Dont have it, pull them, put in another "starter".

No time for Ego. Time for winning. Do what's best. Our 12 man pitching staff will be HUGE in playoffs

Guts said that he wasn't surprised by being replaced by Medlen. However, he pointed out that despite Ned's comment that Guts would pitch in long relief, the Royals have no place right now for a long reliever and I think Ned's use of the pen confirms that. That means that guys like Chris Young and Guts, once removed from the rotation, will spend long periods without pitching in games. Rust follows.

they should experiment with jguts as a one inning stud reliever.  there's nothing to lose.

I'll bet that experiment won't last long. That said, Davis was a starter before he became a 1 inning reliever. Worked for him.

The only place for Guts as a 1 inning guy would be the 6th with the Royals in the lead or tied. Which would me make me a bit nervous.

Fanning owes such a huge apology to Yordano
He should apologize to me first, for putting me through his early season antics. :shakesfist:

Boston has good hitters. Neither of those were bad pitches by Volkie.
