Ned basically said its put up or shut up time for Infante/Rios. Dyson has had plenty of opportunity this year, and I think you'll see him get plenty of ABs in the playoffs against right handed pitching

i don't think there's anything rios can put up that'll convince me he's better than dyson against rhp. just platoon the two of them and play zobsie at 2nd. they've had 120 games, that's enough.

any chance you can steal an inning from a starter, you should. Ventura threw 108 pitches, and worked out of trouble. I think its important for him to work out of an inning like that.

he's had plenty of chances to work out of trouble lately, including this inning. with 100+ pitches, he was more likely to work into even more trouble. that doesn't do him any good and then you've got a tight game and have to dip back to davis and herrera again.

Before that slump he was .301 ave .348 OBP the previous 3 months (April 28- July 21)

Ventura last 3 starts =
10-42 with no one on base
3-27 with runners on
0-14 with RISP

He doesn't have to be that lights out good (no RBI hit with a man in scoring position). But nice to see he is being much tougher when guys get on base and get on 2nd/3rd

My educated guess. The Royals spent $$ on Rios. They still think he is capable of being decent power hitting RF, and his "best playing ability " is better than Dyson

They don't see Dyson as even a platoon guy ( not my thoughts, I think it is them).
Last 3 years Dyson is .262 ave .326 OBP with 78% of his hits being singles. Plus he has only hit .238 vs LHP.

I'm so so glad Ned addressed the situation with Rios not producing. Come playoff time, Dyson deserves that platoon or 50/50 split or whatever. He also needs to be in games on Defense for 8th/9th like you have said Sys.

With RHP in game, Zoby at 2nd and Dyson in RF is our best lineup. Thats no breaking news. Hopefully Ned and Co. will seriously look at this when Oct is here

If we are ahead after the 7th inning I'd rather have Infante in the game than Rios. Innings 1-6 I'd rather have Rios tho. Zobz gives us great options.
