I think I might just rewind the DVR and re-watch that whole 1st inning.
Cueto fans 2.  Then 2 pitches and we got Esky/Zo on base. Then Cain and Morales doing what they do

47 consecutive at bats without striking out. Struck out looking.

when I was a kid he would put chips in a bowl, and just sprinkle salt on top. he actually eats pretty healthy now, I haven't seen him do that for years.

that sounds pretty inefficient.  i bet 95% of the salt just fell of as waste salt.

Esky, leading off the game....

.323 Ave
.376 On Base
Scored 22 of the 38 times on base.

This I why I like him hitting lead off.  1st inning been our best and he sets the tone.
So as of now, I have no issue with Gordo still hitting 6th when he comes back.

guys, I just won the first Royals thread Dad-off

My dad was at game 7 in '85 and the Wild Card game last year and he loves Cueto.  Your dad had a nice showing CF3 but my dad will take it from here.

_33 we should have a father son day!  :Wha:

Agreed.  BTW my dad is also an elder at his church and votes Republican.  Is it possible we share a father?  Aren't you from Topeka?!

its unlikely. I'm not from topeka.

Does your Dad salt his potato chips? Mine does.

Oh, I may have been thinking of Stevesie.  I think he's from Topeka.

Kind of a sloppy game offensively tonight. Since the first inning we've ran into two outs and squandered a two on, no outs situation. As much as we've knocked Boyd around 3 runs feels like we've let him off easy.

He was our hitting coach last year to start the season.  We started off slowly, so Ned made Svuem our hitting coach on like May 29 or May 30.

It's August the 10th, and after tonight they'll be 51 games left in the REGULAR season.

Absurd and ridiculous.

An NFL preseason games rates a 6.0 on NBC, but the MLB wants to play all the way into Week 6 and 7 of the NFL regular season.

cueto is outstanding.

definitely would have liked a few more runs so the bullpen could laugh it up and cruise this one home.  maybe they can get them this inning.

i was feeling pretty good about having the 3 run lead and being 22 over .500, but i didn't realize there was still 51 games left.  :curse:

Where did I say anything in my post about the Royals being good or not good?

It's just idiotic to have a 162 game season.   Patently absurd and stupid.

Maybe, but baseball is as popular now as it's been in a long time. Tons of games really isn't hurting it much.
