A lot of people were focusing on the struggles of the offense today. And yes, Moose and Esky are in a big slump, Cain's looked bad this week (but he's been great all year, not worried), Sal is doing what Sal does, and Rios/Infante can't seem to get hot.
BUT, we had 0 players last year with an .800 OPS, and we're likely to have an ALDS Game 1 lineup with 5 players with an OPS over .800. That's encouraging.
I'm not too worried about anything this week (outside of Ventura) because I've seen enough to believe this team is built for October. We are built for close games. We will have a bullpen unmatched in the American League playoffs (although the Yankees pen is really good too), spectacular D, and if we need a run late to tie or win, we'll have speed coming off the bench. We'll play more games at home than on the road, and Ned will have a short leash on Duffy and whoever is starter #4.
Yeah Toronto is scary, but they'll be a Wildcard team playing the Angels probably. Whatever. Not scared.
We will own the pennant again.
