Isn't Dyson playing kinda hurt? I recall him limping around a little last week. If he's not at 100% then I have no problem with him not running out a comebacker to the pitcher. :dunno:

Said today he tweaked his groin against the Mariners.

Dyson was way more adorable last year, FWIW.

a) ok, then he can run however slow he wants.
b) jfc, is there anyone on this team that isn't injured?

he isn't 100 percent but he was moving pretty good on the double he got in the 1st inning.  Even he has runs at 85-90 percent of full speed that is still pretty fast.  He flat out trotted down to 1st on his 2nd AB.  Injury had little to do with it, he was just pissed off

well, Duffy looked pretty decent through 2.2 but he has now given up 13 hits in under 9 innings since his return.  He is throwing strikes which is good but 13-37 is allowing a .351 average and given up 5 runs in 8.2

I know baseball is long and one or two games doesn't mean a lot, but it feels like we are getting owned by the Astros and it's not fun.

It was fun beating up on crappy teams the last month or so, but the good teams (TEX, STL, HOU) are exposing us.

No way DM sticks with this rotation. Probably <5% chance he would make a move for Cueto and Hamels even less than that.

I'm thinking Haren, Leake, Latos.

1.  like 6 of 8 royals is out of position or injured.
2.  houston is good.
3.  the royals suck against left-handers.
4.  this pitcher does this to everyone.

dick duffy looks fine to me.  i'm excited to see him back on the mound.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Royals are in 3rd place one month from now.

Ok - how about Rios. Can we all agree that guy is awful?

slashing .215/.242/.264 with.......2........walks and 24 K's. An OPS nearing .500 out of a corner OF is only playing on the Phillies this year.

Rios isn't tearing it up. 13 hits in his last 15 games isn't anything to write home about.

But 1) The Royals had won 14 of 19 before these last 2 subpar offensive outputs. 2) We are 0-12 with RISP.   That is pittyful and truth be told, Rios doesn't have 1 of those 12 outs.

When this team doesn't hit with RISP, we are going to struggle.   Houston, on the other hand lives and dies by power.  They are only 2-11 with RISP in the series but they powered their way to 10 runs

I really wanted Rios to be my waters on this team, but he's so rough ridin' awkward out in RF, I just can't. Add hitting like crap and he takes the cake.

That's two in a row, buster. To an opposing team we might see in the playoffs. I think it's ok to freak a little bit when you're matching yourself to potential playoff contenders.
