probably easier for a ss coming to second to transition to 1st as a lefty. but them going to first running the other direction would be very lol. you want to throw across your body, not whatever the other way is called. a 2nd baseman coming to second would be spinning to his right and throwing across the base path to go to first. it would would be super awkward. I'm probably not painting a very good picture of what I'm seeing in my head.

yeah, that helps.  i think i can see it now.

and throw in the fact that Hos would probably be the tallest 2nd baseman in the history of the MLB by about 6 inches (not really, but you know what I mean) and I also would like to see him play second once we have the AL wrapped up but before the playoffs start.

This guy is one of our top prospects, but he plays SS. I'm not sure Raul can play 2nd, but I'd be willing to experiment with it.

of course a ss could play second. he's a freaking ss. 2nd to short is where you would have questions.
True. It has to be weird for a few tho. I played a decent ss, but hated rolling double plays at 2nd. Different throwing motions around the bag.

i was thinking for the world series so they could put morales at first.

but he could practice in the regular season if they still have any interleague games left.

I think Hos (or Morales  :surprised:) in RF has potential (not, like, actual potential of actually happening but you know what I mean)

like, cain you have center and right. gordon, you now have ALL of left. Morales you play like way over here on the edge and make sure your glove is on at all times and you're facing forward when the other team is batting. now we don't have the gaping hole in the lineup.

Hosmer to right, Morales to first would make a whole lot of sense if we had some stud batter on the bench who could DH that just isn't getting on the field right now.

sure but this guy is a professional. also, second base is basically just where all the bad shortstops end up at. it's the middle reliever of the infield positions.

ChiSox beat Det 8-7 in 10.  Thank you worthless team from the Windy City

Our lead is now 6 over Det and 9 over Clev.

Det is 3-4 vs KC, 21-10 vs the rest of division.  They are hanging on by beating up everyone else in Div. besides us

Like 90% of MLB second basemen and 60% of third basemen were drafted as shortstops.

I don't watch a lot of baseball.   So I have a question.  Is it common for baseball announcers on TV to talk incessantly and to talk as if the action isn't even going on?  I mean I get that baseball, despite the efforts to speed it up, moves at a sloth like pace, and there's plenty of time to fill.    However a recent Royals game was on FS1, and I know those weren't the regular guys, but that crew of whomever just yammered on and on.   Then last night I watched some of the Royals and at one point I thought those two guys had basically just left the building and were just talking baseball various comings and goings over some beers at a bar down the street.   I guess the segment I saw did teach me a heck of a lot about fatigue syndrome.

Then sadly I switched to the CWS and it's like they unleashed the on field announcer, she must have done about 20 interviews during the segment I watched, it was like Tom Rinaldi had clowned himself as woman 20 times.

yes, that's normal.  sometimes they'll have a guest in and the camera will stay in the studio and they'll just interview the old baseball player or celebrity who's attending the game.  then when the interview is over, they'll just be like - "well it was great to catch up with that old guy.  we need to take a break for our sponsors and oh, by the way the royals scored three runs while we were talking".

Yep, Moose was drafted as a shortstop and it wasn't an 100% sure thing that they were going to move him  :sdeek:

It would be pretty lame if they were just like "ball 1 outside...fastball over for strike 1, 1 and 1 count...the sign...................................................the wind..................and the pitch...................................ball 2, up high"

Physioc is the worst the Royals have ever had.
