sys' blind hatred of Alex Rios is the best thing going in this thread right now.

saw these on twitter, in between my constant feed of my fav Tigers players:

Brandon H. @BHIndepMO
Misc: Royals pitchers pitched with a lead for 26 of the 27 innings vs MIN. Every inning except the bottom of the first on Monday

Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal
#Royals’ rotation 12th in AL in ERA, but in sweep of #Twins trio of Vargas, Young and Volquez combined to allow 1 ER in 19 1/3 IP.

i think rios was going to be decent but i don't think he is now. that stupid hand thing is going to ruin his entire season.

I loved me some Aoki, but Rios looked good early on this season. Then they broke him.

I understand why Dayton took a chance on Rios though. We hit like negative 5 home runs last year. Aoki would've been good, but I'm ok with the Rios signing, and its always fine to overpay in the short term like a 1 year deal IMO. I am worried we rushed him back though. They way he's played since the return is no better (likely much worse) than production would have been with Dyson/Orlando

i would say we def hurried him back and add that he appears to be a guy that can't play well when he's not 100%. i think aoki wore out his welcome. like i think he was pouting about being replaced all the time late in games and was causing problems and the royals were just like man you aren't worth it.

And that's fine. He wasn't that good defensively, and watch, his numbers will average back out to what he did last year. Decent average with no extra base hits.

more likely it'll average out to closer to what he did in 2012 and 2013.  last year is the worst year he's ever had (and it wasn't horrible).

Rios looked good early on this season.

that was all of one week.
He was very good thru 7 games and has been very bad thru 9 games since his return. Neither segment is large enough to make a conclusion. This team is full of streaky hitters and he's probably just another one of them.

His entire last season was terrible, though. Chances are better that he will be bad than good.

Yeah, I mean, Moose was god awful last year, so that probably means he'll be shitty this year.

i personally don't think so. i don't think he can play hurt and i think his wrist is still bothering him and will continue to bother him for like ever.

He probably needs another couple of weeks to heal but I don't think he really sucks. Dyson was heating up and can fill in until he's ready.

I'd rather cut my arm off.

Also, before this week, I voted maybe 140 times total. since Monday, I've done at least 140 per day. I can't be the only one ramping this up, right?

his one hot streak and one cold streak average out to a sub .600 ops.
