So if we have suspensions to Volquez and Yordano, I'd guess one of them appeals and the other doesn't in order to stagger the starts they miss.  Plug in giant soft-tosser Chris Young for the two starts missed, and Finnegan fills the long-relief (4th-6th) role.

That could be, but I could also see this as a shot to see what Finnegan can do for a start or two. Then you can throw in Young or Pino for long relief if it doesn't go well.

It is funny to see the Royals become the Raiders of baseball (especially considering the overlap in Chiefs/Royals fansbases).

It's like the start of those Raiders, before they had actually won anything.

I think these Royals are showing us all why baseball used to be so popular. Everyone used to play the exciting brand of ball that we play. A whole league full of teams being Royal would be a whole lot of fun. I feel sorry for all of those other fans who have to resort to calling us dirty to feel better about the boring team they are stuck rooting for.

Quote from: Old School baseball date=1965
Juan Marichal vs John Roseboro
August 22, 1965
On August 22, 1965, in the middle of a pennant race, Giants pitcher Juan Marichal knocked down two Dodgers batters. Later in the game, after Dodgers catcher John Roseboro unsuccessfully tried to get Sandy Koufax to retaliate in kind, he buzzed a couple return throws to his pitcher by Marichal's ear and Marichal took exception.  After saying something to Roseboro, the catcher stood up and Marichal clubbed him over the head with his bat. It was one of baseball's most violent moments and it ignited a bench-clearing brawl.
