Quit it, sdk. No one cares who you find attractive. It has nothing to do with majorleague baseball.

Dunno if it was 810 or 610. But someone was talking about Sweeney then mentioned how he was sure all of the African American  boys in KC wanna play baseball because of Cain.

i didn't hear that interview so i don't know the tone or general intent, but is it entirely unreasonable to talk about the event of a black baseball player becoming a superstar, in a sport without a lot of black superstars, as a thing that might inspire black kids in that superstar's team's city to want to try baseball?

i was thinking about this last night, the royals are one serious injury away from .500 or one midseason trade from another pennant. i know this could be said about a lot of teams but i dont remember a team being this close to the edge of either. starting to get the excited feelings again

no, it was a totally reasonable thing to say. they were discussing how the royals missed an entire generation of young fans and that has changed with the recent success. which led to dayton stating that the success of cain/dyson/gore is huge for the african american community in kansas city. it caught me a little off guard i guess because the conversation wasn't originally about race but it was absolutely correct and relevant.

Aaron Brooks-AAA pitcher who has pitched well in Omaha but has been with the Royals 2 different times last season & didn't fair too well.

There is a decent shot we win 150+ games this season.

Rios and morales just mushing haters with their first at bats. Has that ever happened before? debut free agents going yak with their first swing with their new team?

I hope they both play great but lets slow down the idea that they mushed anyone. They could hit 100 HRs in spring training and it doesn't really mean much. Still, its a great start.
