I can see Yost leaving H or D in for an at bat if they were extended over an inning, but that's Ned
:adios:

if we need H or D for the next inning it usually won't matter if they bat or not. I would appreciate it greatly if they got in the batters box (rear outside corner) with no bat and the jacket over the pitching arm to keep it warm.

I would be ok with turning towards the dugout and drilling him there too. bochy's head would probably pull the pitch offline with its massive gravity field though.

This does't matter cause Ned is gonna Ned but what would you guys do with Shields in game 5?  CJ Wilson him and yank him in the first inning at the first instance of trouble? Go with Duffy, Finnegan, Collins, Frasor, then hope to get it tied to HDH? I really don't want to concede a loss. As it has been documented, we have no chance Shields vs. Bumgarner. Make me feel better guyz!!!!

I'd just pitch Shields like normal and hope for the best. Like what is going to actually happen in real life.

The thing I really appreciate about the Royals pitching staff is that they allowed me to flip over and catch all the excitement of the Royals scoring their runs, then flip back to watching the excellent NOVA I recorded about how airplanes can disappear.

Thanks guys, my streak of not watching a complete Royals game for nearly 3 years continues.

As frustrated as he was, though, Peavy did not yell at any of the Royals’ batters or nearly start a brawl.

we got him some youth extra small baseball pants because they don't really make 18 month sized baseball pants. we're just rolling the waste over and they look pretty good. "why don't you just use white sweat pants" "does eric hosmer play baseball in white sweat pants you piece of trash?"

eric hosmer doesn't wear chuck taylor velcro low tops either though and that's what lil sd is wearing so I hope it doesn't throw the whole thing off.

Also, my favorite part reading through the posts throughout the game was when _FAN said he wished Salvy would have gone out and hit Strickland. The Royals have _FAN acting very un-_FAN-like. Wanting fights, saying, and I quote, "LFG", not doing K-State football stats. I can't decide if I love it or hate it. I guess you could say I'm on the _FENCE about it.

Its the freakin' playoffs and world series! Go hard or go home!

Also, when Ned throws out Shields for game 5, its highly likely it will work out. For all the grief Ned has gotten, most buttons he's pushed this postseason have been great. In game 1 he just really didn't have any buttons to push. I also think Shields will pitch way better in his next start, I put some stock in those numbers they kept showing during game 1 of pitchers and Shields when they had 6+ days rest or whatever. Most of them stunk and Shields has never been very good when he attempted to do so. Him being back on a regular schedule will help and we have DUD (Dinged Up Danny) to back up BGJ if necessary.

KANSAS CITY -- From baseball's unwritten rule book:

Rule 8.61: "If you are a rookie pitcher, do not mouth off to an opposing player on national television when trailing in a World Series game."

"(a) Especially if you have less than 15 innings of major league experience."

"(b) And you just gave up your fifth home run of the postseason."

"(c) And the home run was to Omar Freaking Infante."

"(d) Seriously. Don't do it.''

As someone who speaks fluent Spanish I easily understood what Perez said. After he hit the double and Strickland began glaring at him while he was on second, Perez said, "Wha chu lookin' at Gringo? Jus pitch the ball, homme and doan worry 'bout me. You keep bringing that weak as* chit you throwin' and I be buyin' 2 Mercedes wit my world series money"

It's what he said, no kidding.
