sf dug their own grave tonight
"I started calling him John during the game, cause he was rocking it like No. 7 -- like Elway," Harper said."

i actually dont feel too bad after the loss, we had to lose sometime, might as well be against the only pitcher they have with a winning record

Guys, not sure if it came through as clearly on the TV broadcast or radio, but Shields provided further convincing evidence tonight that he is a terrible postseason pitcher.

Nope. Already talking in postgame about looking forward to having him pitch in five days.

Duffy was a bright spot.  If James had given up 2 runs, we still would have lost to the best pitcher in the post season, and we wouldn't have observed that Duffy's progress, and maybe neither would the Royals.

benching shields doesn't matter.  no one we have is beating bumgarner, might as well let shields eat those losses.  we'll beat all their other pitchers.

Wins, that's a significant stat for pitchers, yessiree.

Bum is our greatest nemesis in the Series.

I mean, Jake Peavy didn't have double digit wins this year, but he's been really rough ridin' good since arriving in San Fran. Better than any starter on our roster. I like Ventura's chances tomorrow, because he can throw up a zero on any given night, but he's not facing a chump.

Big James Shields

Keep him or not? Although he has leadership qualities I (and apparently the Royals) value, I am no longer concerned about the potential loss of him to free agency after this season. I'd like to see him stay, but I won't lose sleep if he doesn't. As long as we can find an adequate replacement, which I believe to be Finnegan.

This, plus I thought we planned on losing at least 2 of the first 5 so we would win it at home.

In retrospect, THIS was the worst part of Duffy pitching well.  We wasted it.

What fun would another sweep be? They have an awesome #1 starter.... Good for them. We got them tonight.

What are everybody's thoughts after experiencing (I assume) your first world series game. It felt strange to me. Biggest stage in baseball but same stadium, same PA announcer, same Denea, same Royal Thunder ????..... Just didn't feel like other big events I've been to like bowl games.  Not necessarily bad but didn't feel like some huge stage. I think you get more of that feel watching it on TV... When I came home and watched all the bumps and constant coverage of us on baseball tonight, that felt like big game stuff.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

We were spoiled in the ALDS and ALCS. We're going to be fine and winning tonight will makes us all feel a lot better. LFG!
