True story alert: I tweeted out that Aoki was the off season move of the year (Didn't really mean it. I was just fueled by his catch) and my former HS baseball coach (now a Cardinals scout/minor league coach) texted me "99% of your tweets are legit..... crediting a guy that took a route similar to Eudora c team player and calling it "move of the year" is a stretch."

We must have out bid those losers on I-70 for Aoki.

Scroll back to my pregame breakdown. I said if the ball stays in the yard, and the outfield makes plays, we can win. The ball stayed in the yard (mostly) and the one time he got in real trouble somehow Aoki made the most unlikely play of the postseason to date. Also, he didn't walk anyone until that trouble 6th inning with Pujols. He seemed to be locating really well, and getting ahead of hitters. He did his job well.

And if 2011 KSU football taught us anything, its that its ok to be lucky. Those Aoki catches were lucky.

I feel like i'm shoplifting. I never really care about baseball or the Royals but now I get to experience the joy of this postseason run without ever paying the price. I know my enjoyment can never be as full or as deep as a lifetime true fan's, but I didn't have to pay any heartbreak at all for this butterfinger.

I was varsity as a freshman. I only played outfield when they wanted to put the Senior in at first base. However, you're right. It makes much more sense now. I definitely was a circus in the outfield, but made every catch that came my way. You don't put a goofy tall freshman in the outfield. They needed the bat tho. #fanningbrag
