I mean two men on with moss coming to the plate and you want to leave shields on?  Jfc.  He was far from unhittable last night and a lot of pitchers look good until they don't and by then it's too late.

it wasn't just taking shields out, it was also the fact that he replaced him with ventura. i mean you either think it was the correct move and you are way dumber than i think or you're continuing to carnes. take your pick because you're either an idiot or you're the guy that won't stop telling the same annoying joke. your call.

Ned's getting killed for it.  He panicked, I'm sure he knows that.

Pulling Shields was okay.  Replacing with Ventura was not.

This, Shields was done, pulling him was the right call. You don't replace him with a rookie with virtually no experience coming in with runners on. Finnegan, Frasor, etc would have been better. The results could very well have ended up the same, but it was obvious from his first pitch Ventura was too amped and if Ace isn't mentally strong (I think he is so this shouldn't happen) could screw him up permanently.

Yeah, all anyone upset with Yost was saying is that move in that situation just wasn't right. In a jam like that, throw the reliever you trust the most to get out of it. Probably Davis. You can always throw Ventura or Duffy in to start an inning when there isn't nearly as much pressure if needed. You can use Finnegan as well. Then go to Herrera and Holland to close it out.

A lot of you rough ridin' assholes owe Finnegan a huge apology.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

Exactly. Ace was on one day rest, is a rookie, not used to that situation. 4 other moves would have been okay... That was dumbfounding. Fireable offense.

That said... I still can't believe that game. What fight.

I'm not being hyperbolic when I say it was the greatest baseball game I've ever watched.

My kids were so pumped about this.  Basically wanted the Royals to win so she could get her puppy.

That's adorable.

It really was. It makes me want to cry. I got choked up multiple times last night.

I saw @cartierfor3 and jdub tonight. We were all rosy cheeks. :surprised:

 :blank:

What a great night, guys. CF3 and I are an unstoppable force when we go to / watch games together, evidently. It was everything I ever imagined watching playoff baseball would be...everyone hanging on every pitch of the game. I can't even reconstruct the game in my head right now it's so overloaded. Probably the greatest sporting event I've ever seen in person.

Oh, also:

Dyson's dance was amazing. There were so many great things you forget some of them.

Also, if anyone somehow has any extra tickets lying around for Sunday's game... you know. :)

Imagine being one of his Korean colleagues at work with him.

It would be like you working with some dude who is allegedly famous among like Indian Cricket fans of a random Indian city team.  You would have zero understanding of why the guy is famous.

I don't think cricket is analogous to baseball in your comparo, there.  Baseball is much more prevalent in South Korea than is cricket here.  It would be more like some random Bundesliga team, iyam.

Dyson is one of the reasons I would love an I-70 II. Imagine him doing that in a WS game at Busch Stadium.

Just do a twitter search of #yosted and look at what comes up. The national media and Ned are going to be a beautiful disaster.
