having duffy back makes such a huge difference.  like, if i look at duffy, bgj, ventura, miracle j guts and vargas, the only game i don't think is a good to great chance at a win against pitcher x right now is vargas.  3-2 seems like a probability.  exchange dick duffy for that minnesota aussie, and all of a sudden it's trust in bgj and pray for jguts to avoid 1-4.


detroit is so lucky they had that 3a german to save their asses when sanchez went down.  replacing sanchez with lobstein vs. duffy with hendriks is pretty much the whole season.

He's a true stud and should, without a doubt, make the roster. But there's always the Ned/Moore Factor. (Although BF wasn't on the roster on August 31, he can still make the playoff roster under various MLB rules...if Ned and Dayton make the right moves). If they don't, both should be fired.

i hope he does and all, because who knows, he might be the team's fourth best reliever.  but really how many relievers do you need in the playoffs?  they don't play daily.  i'd rather have more position players.  i know it's impossible, but i'd love to see them find room for gore.

It's going to be a long week. At this late point, history doesn't matter. The back of the pen needs some rest. Middle relievers need to step it up, as do the bats.
