i guess bgj must have known we'd score two in this game.  that homerun was puzzling, but now it's starting to make a little more sense.

lol at willingham looking for a walk in that situ. at least billy would've taken the bat off his shoulder and attempted to drive a run in.

Not Cain, but I'm sure Ned is saving him for an 8th inning defensive replacement for Aoki

just noticed that gordon's beard is too long.  no wonder he's playing so poorly.

not if he doesn't realize that he needs to swing the rough ridin' bat in that situation, he isn't.

cain is hitting like either 0.000 or 0.100 against scherzer over his career.

he at least saw a good pitch.  every other player we have would've never seen a pitch to hit because they'd have grounded out to second on the first pitch within 8 inches of the strike zone.

0 for 15...but did get hit by a pitch once so there is that.

idgaf if cain is 0-100 against scherzer.  cain is 100x better at hitting than that rough ridin' loser willingham.

his job in that situation is to swing the bat and put the ball in play. but he's 0 for his last 13 with risp though so he went up looking for a walk. begging to not have to swing the bat. he is apparently a huge pussy and i'm beginning to dislike him because of it. his only job was to swing and he couldn't bring himself to do it.

everyone, including willingham knows he should have swung at the last pitch.  he saw it wrong.  and he shouldn't have swung at the second strike.  he saw that one wrong too.  it wasn't a good at bat.

but the only reason he's a decent player is because he takes pitches and draws walks.  being mad at him taking a pitch is like being mad at a hr hitter have a fly ball caught at the warning track.  he was doing what he do, just not quite well enough.
