The three pitchers with the longest active scoreless streaks in the American League combined to put the Kansas City Royals back into sole possession of first place in the AL Central on Wednesday.

Over or under 250k in the last 10 games? I say over. Two weekends

Over. The Tigers series will average have over 100K no problem.

Going the 19th vs DET

whoever asked about if the Royals are going to set some records for baserunners LOB for a season, this may surprise you:

2014 LOB:

1. Tampa Bay 1093
2. Pittsburgh 1069
3. Boston 1068
4. Minnesota 1062
.
.
.
.
27. Kansas City 950
28. Milwaukee 930
29. Seattle 912
30. San Diego 910

It makes sense if you consider the following:

though the Royals' OBP has been taken behind the woodshed ad nauseam this year, it is only slightly below average (19th in MLB), and yet they are 16th in MLB in runs scored per game. So they score better than their OBP suggests, which means once people get on base, they score. The last few games in Detroit have definitely been the exception, not the rule.

BTW San Diego has by far the worst offense ever assembled on planet earth.

They are dead last in MLB in AVG, OBP, SLG, OPS, RBI, Runs Scored, and 2Bs

They are the only team to have scored less than 500 runs (465)
They are the only team to have less than 200 2Bs (199)
They are the only team to have less than 500 RBI (434)
The Colorado Rockies have amassed 2223 total bases this year (best in MLB). San Diego is last with 1606.

So the reason they are last in LOB is because they are last in OB

I have tickets for this Saturday. It would be nice to go next Saturday, but I'm not sure that will work. Unfortunately, Saturday games are my only option.

Of the Red Sox match-ups, tonight worries me the most. I like Hendricks as the spot guy, but you never know. Hopefully the offense can help him out.

Our lack of Ks at the plate probably is a big big reason why we don't LOB as much

I dunno... It didn't seem that depressing. Just that we win in a way that no team before us really has, while the Tigers are much more traditional. Also says we are super boss at scoring runners that get on base

oh surprise surprise it was PIPE. (_FAN already took care of him tho)

Speaking of runners LOB, anyone have a stat for who leads the league in that catagory?  I bet our Royals are sure the hell up there.

IF we had to play in the WC game, I would want James to be #OurGuy. That game will be either 9/30 or 10/1 I think, and if the rotation stays what it is, his last start would be Friday 9/26. He'd be just throwing 1 day early if it is on 10/1 so if we play in that, we can pretty much bank on James being the man.

vs Lester or Felix? woof
