I'm not going to read the dozen or so pages I've missed this week, so sorry if luked...
These 1 run games have to balance out over the course of a full season, right? Even with the win today we're a AL-worst 11-20 in those games. Games like today and hits like Aoki's in the 9th just show we're thisclose to turning this thing around.
5-1 in 1 run games since July 23...
Can't really expect it to even out over a season. Last year 10 teams had a differential of +/- 10 wins in 1 run games. Only 2 teams who were under .500 had a record over .500 in 1 run games, and only two teams over .500 had a record under .500 in 1 run games.
Median differential from .500 in one run games is 6 over the 2013 season

I think we're on the same page here... Teams that are good enough to finish >.500 and be in contention for a playoff spot (like the Royals) never only win 1/3 of 1 run games like they did for the first ~100 games of the season.
They may not get all the way back to even in 1 run games, but the fact that they were once 10-20 in those games was not a good reflection of what they are.
