That was fun. I was following via At Bat and was excited when I saw "In play, run(s)".

some of my most enjoyable royals moments have been celebrating those 3 beautiful words
"I started calling him John during the game, cause he was rocking it like No. 7 -- like Elway," Harper said."

Detroit filed for bankruptcy. Kansas City never has and never will.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Detroit_bankruptcy

Interesting reading. Especially:  Detroit’s population has declined from a peak of 1.8 million in 1950; recently, the New York Times called the city “home to 700,000 people, as well as to tens of thousands of abandoned buildings, vacant lots and unlit streets.

That said, they do have a decent MLB team. Time for us to ruin the team. Royals.

Don't forget Detroit's most famous export, the horribly nasally upper midwestern accent

Plus, Shields might be good again. Hos might have decided to not suck, I mean, he was great tonight. Even Butler has 4 hits the last 2 days (singles but still hits fellas). We're gonna need all hands on deck, and as many Ts and Ps for Alex and Vargas as you can possibly muster.

Each of you send 100 Ts and say 100 Ps before bed tonight.

this is going to be an awful couple of weeks  :frown:

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/mlb/kansas-city-royals/article699938.html

Looks like oscar will pick up Vargas' start against Detroit. Also looks like Vargas will go on the DL, which means KC will need another LHP. Probably from Omaha until Vargas is back.

The more interesting roster situation, IMO, will occur when Aoki returns. It's pretty clear Ned likes Ibanez, and has even said Raul likely has a spot when Aoki comes back. Defensively, Raul can play several positions...but his bat has become pretty quiet. At the same time, it seems apparent that Raul is in the lineup every day to see if he'll break out of his batting slump...if he doesn't, will the Royals move or release him?

IMO, Aoki has not added a great deal to this team. He's not as versatile defensively as Ibanez and it's apparent from the quotes of other players that they view Ibanez as an important veteran addition to the clubhouse. Haven't read that about Nori.

As it looks like Aoki won't be ready until after the AS Break, time remains for all to chew this over and for Ibanez to prove he can still hit.

Stray dogs terrorize detroit's streets. Its basically a city that is exactly like every zombie movie ever. I could post links like these for 100 hours straight and barely scratch the surface of the awfulness.

Detroit doesn't deserve the Tigers, or any other pro sports franchises for that matter.

If Justin Verlander and his big shot buddies had even a shred of decency, they would donate half their salaries to help that city clean up the dogs and monster cats and maybe like pay for a few more cops and firemen. But, they are bad people.

They just don't care. Our Royals care about KC.
