Not in the situation presented by tonight's game. Vargas was pitching when we got the lead but didn't complete five innings. In that case, it's the scorer's decision (see Rule 10.17 at the link below). That's why Mariot got the W tonight--the scorer deemed him the "most effective."

Picked up a game tonight, guys. Tigers just lost to the Astros in extra innings.

(And for good measure, Cleveland also lost).

Los Angeles +48 (44-34)
Seattle +42 (43-37)
Toronto +35 (45-37)
Detroit +20 (43-33)
Kansas City +15 (41-38)
Baltimore +10 (42-37)

The Yankees are 41-37, but at -28 it doesn't look too sustainable. The West Coast is a monster, but hopefully they'll eat each other alive somewhat in the second half. KC should have plenty of opportunities for cheap wins against Minnesota, Chicago and Cleveland.
