Listen, I want the Royals to be good....I really do

I was 12 years old when they won in '85. That is a long time ago.
They have had 2 winning seasons(counting last year) the last 13 years.
They have averaged 94 loses/year over that 13 year span.
People acted like they won the world series after having a winning season last year. Pathetic.
This winning streak was nice. I found myself checking scores.
But, before the streak, we were swept by the Astros and Ned's butt was on fire(I wish). Now, all is forgotten?
The excitement level is ok, I guess, but I don't see it.......yet. We are only what, 6 games over .500. The only reason we are leading the division is cause everyone else sucks too.
If we are there at the end w/ a playoff run, that would be great.  Until then, my expectations are tempered.....

If you can't get excited when we're in first with a legit shot at winning the division, please stop being a Royals fan.

Even if this is just a dream, us true Royals fans are going to sleep just a little while longer and enjoy every second.

Just look at the awfulness. Gaze upon it. You were checking scores during a 10 game winning streak? He was checking effing scores. The best stretch in 20 years and you can muster up the effort to check scores? So nice of you to really buy in bud! And if you're a regular here in this thread, no one acted like we won the World Series last year. We all (the true Royals fans, not idiots like you) ripped Dayton apart for that stupid comment. Stevesie has been a Royals fan since like last Friday and is 10 times the fan you could ever be. We were all pissed after the Astros series, and no, all is not forgotten but a 10 game streak is no fluke.

I sat through enough ten plus losing streaks the past 10 years to have the right to be all in with these guys. This week has been a complete blast. If you didn't enjoy it, that's really sad and you're probably never going to enjoy anything.

I think we're all ok with you on the sideline anyway, loser.

Pipe when the Cats won in 4 OTs vs aTm:

Quote
I dunno if I can get on board. Are we just going to forget about when we were losing by 10 in the 4th? This team can't get me excited yet.

Pipe after the Xavier 2OT game:

Quote
Sure we won, but I sat through too many losing K-State teams to really buy in. I mean, I'm gonna assume the worst until proven wrong and even then be a huge moron about it.

Pipe finds $20:

Quote
Sure $20 is nice, but it can't even buy a tank of gas in 2014. I was 12 in 1985 and you could buy more gas back then. I'm not ready to get excited about this $20 yet.

In sports as in love. You must give your whole heart. And after it gets broken, as it will invariably be broken time and again. You must rise, steel yourself for the next challenge and bravely, heroically leave it all on the field one more time.

See, I have you beat......you have only had to put up with the awfulness for 10 years. How have you gotten through? I am going on 3 freakin decades dude! I have a right to be pissed. You go 20 more years of crap baseball and get back with me, okay?

I am glad you had a blast this week. Congrats....I never said I did not enjoy it either, but I am reserved.
I enjoy plenty of things in life and am not sad, so whatever....

What's wrong w/ checking scores?  What else do you do? I am curious to this response of yours.  Do you call your buddies up in a sexy voice and rave to each other about how tight Gordon's butt looks? I am serious. What the eff are you talking about? :sdeek:

Lastly, I don't want to be on the sidelines.  I said I will be in the stands heckling, remember?
