I would assume the 5 they have: Vargas, Shields, Duff, 'Tura, Guthrie are who they want all season. But I wouldn't be shocked to see Ventura or Duffy skip a start at some point once or twice in July/August. Also I'd assume they set the rotation for those two to get lots of rest at the All Star break. They way it is currently neither of them would go very far past those limits anyway.

If they do skip a start I think Chen is what the organization would like to have fill in, but he's been poopy in Omaha so he's not ready.

Also this is all speculation on my part.

if you guys are talking real playoffs here then something has to give, why take 6 starting pitchers into the postseason when you only need 4?

Chen wouldn't be on the postseason roster unless injuries anyway.

really? i thought he was damn good last year. obviously shaky start this season but everybody wearing the blue had a bad start. either way dayton is in a great position right now where he can basically call all the shots. the royals have a bunch of trade bait

lets just enjoy this and talk about that when the time comes

Chen sucks right now. You don't want him on the mound bud.

Actually this is a fantastic comparo.

How effing amazing is it that we essentially play 7 inning games guys? Davis and Holland are a ridiculous advantage over every other team in baseball. I remember hating that the Yankees only had to play 8 cuz Mariano. Now we have gone and done them one better. I mean wow
