The Royals offered Carlos Beltran three years and over $40MM, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman tweets. Beltran ended up going to the Yankees for three years and $45MM. Heyman also notes that the Royals will also be bidding against the Yankees for infielder Omar Infante.

I hate them

why? because they have an owner who spends money on his team?

I meant I hate the Royals

Omitted from that quote was the performance's of Duffy, Ventura and Zimmer (if he gets hot)- all have priority over Davis/Hoch in rotation.

Not resigning Chen was questionable- at 37 y-o next year I believe he has another season or two left in that finesse arm of his.

Letting Chen go is absolutely decimating, not for the team probably so much as for mocat's support levels next season. That said, give spots #4 and #5 to duff and Ventura and lets rough ridin' do this.

I really, really, really like what Donnie Joseph brings to the table. I think he's the dark horse this next season that really does well.

Agreed, I think him and Coleman will be great replacements for our bullpen in the near future.

i'll be convinced they could have resigned chen and done as well with him as with the new guy for half the money and half the years up until the moment chen sucks for some other team.

and chen would have been twice the fun.

I'd like to see them try Joseph in a end of the rotation starting spot as I think he's got the arm to last 5 or 6 innings. I would also like to see them throw Tiny Tim for more than 2 batters or the immediate lefty matchup...he's good for an inning or two at least when his curve is working
