_FAN when you close your eyes can you see that text from me saying how any defense of Ned Yost is insane, as I lose my mind inside the K watching a lead slip, and then we win the game anyway despite his questionable bullpen moves?

I can see it, and when I'm sending that text the calendar will read "October" and we will once again dance in the streets like children.

Oh yeah, I can see it. And all the other stuff.

the whole time I read CF3's beautiful prose I could only hear this in the background:

Take me there, I want to go there
Take me there, Let's go there.
Take me to that great place with wonders and wishes
Take me there I want to go there
Take me there You know where
Just take me to that great place with wonders and wishes
When the bullets are flying, that's when I'm at my best

it'd be great if the over the hill, yesterday's news, former mlb'er alex gordon would retire while some people still remember when he actually contributed to the team.  it would clear the way for whit to become the mega star that he is destined to be.

but no, gordo's greed won't allow it.  so sad.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

remember when Meche retired and forewent his guaranteed $12mil salary?  It'd sure be nice if Alex would do that.

Picture this:

The Royals win the division and face the Red Sox in the ALDS. Sale out duels Duffy in Game 1 in Fenway, but the Royals win 3 straight and clinch a spot in the ALCS winning Game 4 at home before a raucous crowd at the K. Its just a blowout, with the Royals scoring 5 in the bottom of the 2nd on their way to a 9-2 win.

Then its Royals/Astros in the ALCS. Which team do you think feels the pressure building, and which one is playing loose?

Can you see it?

Its Game 1 in Houston, and Danny Duffy takes the hill. There's a shot of him warming up in the pen about 15 minutes before the game is to start, and his face is steel. Salvy is smiling and as they walk from the bullpen to the dugout, he stops to sign a ball for a young Astros fan and allows another to take a selfie, but Duffy's face is set, deeply focused on the task at hand.

The Royals go down 1-2-3 in the Top of the 1st, and as Fox returns from commercial Joe Buck addresses the national TV crowd with what happened as the Royals took the field. "Folks while we were at commercial and the Royals took the field their starting pitcher Danny Duffy knelt down behind the pitching rubber and drew a number 30 with his fingers in the dirt. He then paused and put his hand over the patch honoring Yordano Ventura the team has worn all season before continuing his warm up routine. (long pause). You'll remember Ventura who was an integral part of the Royals in their back to back pennants passed in a car accident in his native Dominican Republic in January. (long pause) The Royals are a close team and many of these guys played together going back to their earliest seasons in the lower levels of the Royals system, and Duffy made it clear to us before the game Ventura has been on his mind this week as they've prepared for this series. (long pause) so... here's Springer to lead things off for Houston........"

I will need to find some Astros fans on twitter so I can drink their tweet tears every time Fox brings up the 2015 ALDS Game 4 comeback.

Hopefully Eiland can work his magic with the Power throwing Maurer.  Guy is night and day when it comes to bases empty or someone on base. Ave fastball is thrown at 97.2

2017: He has an OPS of an absurdly low .465 with no one on. And then about 1,000 with men on base.
For his career, it is about .615 OPS with no one on, and about .900 with men on base.

2nd thing of note probably not as big, but Maurer and Cahill were both way better playing at home this year (and struggled on a Road). Hopefully those 2 like pitching in another pitcher friendly park.
Cahill : 4 home starts, 0.72 & 7 road starts, 5.75
Maurer : 2.11 at home (22 App) 10.00 on road (20 App)
