The pen follows up that 40 inning streak with completely letting the team down.

Can someone give me the Royals record if we didn't sign Soria?

I'm doing more detailed research, but Soria has 7 losses, 2 other games where his blown save didn't result in a loss for him(we lost 1, won 1)  1 of his 4 wins, he gave up a run in a 2-2 game and we scored 2 in the 8th for a 4-3 win.  That's just 10 crappy appearances. 8 losses he had a hand in

These last 6 games haven't been good at all :frown:

Just Brutal week. 2 games where we had lead late. 2 games where we were tied entering the 9th inning. We lost all 4.  This stuff just hasn't happened at home all year.  And it happened 4x in 6 games

* Soria has given up runs in 15 games this year.
*10 of those games he gave up our lead or the game was tied and the opponent took the lead. (The ones I mentioned above). Remember we lost 8 of the those.
*5 other times he gave up runs where the lead did not change or the score become tied.  Although 1 game he gave up 4 when we were behind and we lost 7-4 after scoring runs late.

I know of 1 game and probably a 2nd where he gave up the lead when he was in the game, but the run that scored did not belong to him.

We're basically missing the playoffs bc of soria.  He may be the worst free agent signing in the history of baseball.

Soria on the mound this year when KC has been up 2, up 1, or game tied =
his ERA is 4.78 and his WHIP is 1.63. Allowed 1 HR for every 16 outs recorded
Not exactly stellar 7th/8th inning stuff

Soria numbers when not in the above situation = 2.94 ERA 1.24 WHIP. Gave up 1 HR for every 27 outs recorded (and a good portion of this was one bad outing when we down a few runs. His ERA without that outing is 1.78)

So a little comparison....

I said Soria has given up the lead 10x this year when he allowed an ER, and we lost 8 times

Wade Davis from May 2014- July 2016, counting the postseason has 183 appearances. He has allowed an ER in just 13 of those outings. We lost the game 4x of those 13.

Davis - 4 team losses when allowing an ER in those 183 appearances
Suckia or Soria - 8 team losses when allowing an ER (60 appearances)

Damn Soria is really trying to help his old team make the playoffs and screw us....

July 15- he comes in mid inning in tie game with 1 out. Walks a guy, strikes out a guy, then can't handle a comebacker from V Martinez. 2 runs score as he deflects ball into a vacant area. Soria said afterwards, that's a play I make 95% of the team. KC loses by 2

July 17- Soria comes on in the 9th in tie game. Gives up a hit and then a walk off 2 run HR to a guy hitting under .200 ( Saltalamachia)

Today - gives up single, gets 2 outs, gives up eventual game winning 2 run HR.

as bad as soria has been, I have to blame the guy who continues to use him in key situations more than the player. Particularly after our bullpen added decent arms over the last month.

i do like the slow runners scoring on the twins shitty outfielders because they can't throw moves.
