The Royals should expect a sweep this weekend. If they don't sweep, the chances of having a good season become really low IMO. I thought that a sweep in NYC was possible but instead it was homerun city for the yanks.

Volquez needs to go 7 innings with less than 2 runs tonight.

Last year at this point in the season mocat was mocatin' it up with stuff about "if we were to lose our next 10 games, we would like still be 1.5 games in front" or some crap like that. Whatever, it was great.

Now, we are at the point where we have to sweep a weekend series to save the season. This sucks.

he is still playing.

btw in 2011 the royals had three outfielders + Billy Butler who hit at least the following:

.285/.329/.461, 18 HR, 87 RBI, 44 doubles

and that doesn't count Hosmer who hit .293/.334/.465, 19 HR, 78 RBI, 27 doubles

This might be the most important stretch coming up here that we have all season.

13 of next 19 games at home
3 of those 6 road games vs pathetic Twins
7 games vs White Sox.

Pulling off a 13-6, 14-5 record, and winning 4 or 5 vs WhiteSox would be so sweet (14-5 and 5-2 vs CWS would be dreamy)

Man I had forgotten mocat!

But yeah I loved that outfield of Gordon/Melky/Frenchy. I remember a heated debate with J-Dub about Frenchy vs Melky when we traded Melky. Turns out J-Dub was right about that one. However I like to remind him I was right when he said Moose should be left off the 2014 postseason roster and we should just start Colon at 3rd and I said no way Jose.

@mocat you know who I loved from that era of Royals ball was Luis Mendoza, but maybe its because he and his wife looked like Gods who descended to earth to dwell amongst us in mere human form.
