span would be great because he's a really good player that may be cheap because he was hurt this year.  and the royals can take the chance with possibly injury prone players because dyson/zobrist/infante provide solid insurance at multiple positions.

span seems really cheap to me too, mocat.  it may be that his estimated contracts are lower than what he'll get.  and/or gordon's estimates are inflated.


the injury concern is real, though.  you do have to price in a significant discount when you're talking about a guaranteed contract.
