Hope Hosmer stays hot.  Would be nice if he could smack a couple doubles, walk once, collect 1-2 RBI's and score a couple runs.

keuchel is slated to throw a side session today. while those arent full speed, its game 5. 100% chance he pitches tonight, no matter the situation.
I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

Guys, we may not lose again this year. Wouldn't that be something?

How much does short rest after throwing a ton of pitches really mess with a pitcher?

depends on the guy really. keuchel has never thrown on short rest in his career. i wouldn't bet on someone being effective doing this often, but as a one time thing a guy can make it work. if he did it often its hard to imagine he wouldn't be wild

I hope we get an early lead and make this a moot point.

Baumgarner pitched 5 innings on two days rest in game 7 of the W.S. and was lights out.  I hope Keuchel is not Baumgarner.

Baumgarner is not rough ridin' normal. He's a freak of nature and should be taken to Barnum and Baileys circus tour.

I'm not afraid of Keuchel. Although we only got 1 run off of him, we had many chances to get 3 or 4 runs early. Perez, Cain, Morales, Zobrist, Moose and Escobar all seemed to see the ball well off of him, and have good ABs. Hos and Gordon looked lost. But how many times have those guys gone from ice cold to red hot?

If we lose today, its more likely the Houston bats do damage against Cueto early than Keuchel does some Bumgarner routine late.

Yep.

I'm guessing we see a lot of "in play, run(s)" today.

Baum was superhuman last year.  DK is great = but not 2014 post-season Baum great.

away from Minute Maid, he's 5-8 with 3.77 ERA.  and he's tired.  bring him in - we'll bomb him.  just hope Cueto doesn't leave us in too large a hole.

at this point i take walking rasmus over pitching to him regardless of situation, he is responsible for half their runs or some absurd number like that.

The last pitch Cueto should throw is a heater right into Rasmus's chin.

Hos and Gordo looked bad, but Keuchel usually dominates lefties anyway. I think it all comes down to Cueto, though. Have to have Young ready to go if he struggles early.

The problem as others have said is that by the time Cueto "gets in trouble" it may be too late to climb out of the hole he's dug. :nervous:

Also, I think we'll only see Keuchel if the game is within a run either way by the 6th. And if that happens, I sure hope we're ahead.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, K-State fans could have beheaded the entire KU team at midcourt, and K-State fans would be celebrating it this morning.  They are the ISIS of Big 12 fanbases.

Keuchel, away from home, on short rest? I hope they bring him in in the 5th.

i need to get a lot of work done today, so i can watch the game guilt-free.  it's not going very well and the toronto game is already right around the corner.
