Are we going to call up BF when Gordo goes to the DL?

I'd like to see Dayton make a trade that meant something. I understand wanting to stand pat with your guys, but when you lose your most important guy in your most important season then it's time to go get somebody. Gordon is gone next year anyway, go grab his replacement. Make it happen, Dayton!

Leg injuries for (aging) players that make their hay on defense are not what you want to see as a prospective employer. He may return to full health, but he's no spring chicken.

If Gordo is out for 2 months that'd still have him back for the last 20 or so games.

The Nomar comparison by Olney was a dick move. That is the worst case scenario for a groin strain. Let's compare every broken leg to Joe Theismann while we're at it, Buster. Yeesh.

CF3, I hope Mrs. CF3 has hidden all of the sharp objects in your house. It's going to be ok. The Cain-Dyson-Orlando trio can hold this together, and Rios has nowhere to go but up.

Thanks TC. I'm fine.

Buster may have been giving us worst case scenarios and examples, but judging by Gordon's body language, and Ned's postgame, it is probably in that realm of months (plural)

I understand why Ned said what he said, but until he's had an MRI and had tests there is no way of knowing. I was encouraged that they said the muscle didn't detach from the bone.

Seasons over without Gordon. :frown:
That's a bit dramatic. The Royals will manage as best they can until his return.

It may be difficult to live with that kind of cognitive dissonance the rest of the season.

I like the mindset that we were going to need to make a move to replace alex anyway and now it just moves that date up a bit. We make that move now. I hate it but I feel like we've seen the last of alex in a royals jersey. I love alex. he's an enormous part of what we've done. but I love the royals more.

the good news is he'll be 32 in the offseason and we'd be kind of dumb to give him $20m per year anyway. he'll still be in the RHoF

Yep. Sentimentalism will cause a bunch of Royals fans to be dumbasses, but it will be good for the team (in the long run) and for Alex.

I'd like to see the Royals work to keep him around for another contract. I think he would continue to be good for the team as a whole.
