I'm 0-4 at Royals games so far. I'm sorry, I'll stop going.

I'm 3-0. I guess I need to go more.

Na I'm not bud. I don't think I'm going to any of the Tigers games unfortunately. Going on the 6th vs. Cleveland and possible the 7th also.

It's sad because I really thought we had a chance to go 162-0.

Within a single game, yes, errors and ERA are extremely flawed. Within a season, or career, errors and ERA will tell you if a player makes mistakes or not.

Sample size people. Sample size.
FIP, guys. it's a better indicator of a pitcher's performance than era.

ed's fip sucked after moose's error.

I agree with that stuff, though admittedly I am just getting into baseball analytics. I do think baseball has enough subjectivity to score keeping that even some of the analytics aren't as concrete to me as advanced football and basketball stats that I'm used to.

I mean, we all saw Moose boot a ball he fields 90% or more of the time. There was no guarantee for a double play (though it was likely) and he would have at least gotten 1 out. Runner on first with 2 outs and I like Volquez getting out of the mess. I get the issues with earned/unearned runs and small sample size, but I don't think they are completely without merit.

Baseball is also different than other sports because your mistakes extend the game. They give the other team better position on the bases and extra outs. There really isn't a fair way to evaluate a pitcher who gives up a few runs after he had already pitched what should have been his 3rd out. ERA really isn't that bad.

Yep, a big part of the beauty of the game really.

Drop two games in one day, gain a spot to reach the top.

I have a bad feeling about this week's games... 2-5 wouldn't surprise me at all.

Originally I was hoping for 4-3 on the road trip. With 1 postponed I'd be extremely happy with 3-3, we need to win 2 of 3 in Cleveland.

Then we'll see what happens with the Tigers.

And we all know if we do go 2-5 this week or something like that after losing 2 yesterday, the narrative will be about the implosion because of the fighting, etc. And that's BEFORE the suspensions even happen.

That is correct, I looked at the schedule wrong.

Herrera should serve his 2 gamer starting today, and serve the 5 game one once Holland is back. Cain should wait and see if his gets reduced by a game, same with Ventura. I can't imagine they'd reduce Herrera's

Apparently Ned is keeping Young available out of the pen until Friday too which makes me think it's not for sure.  Who knows though.

Also, holland throwing again today and Rios starts hand rehab barring an exam.

Herrera might be able to get the 5 game suspension cut to 3 or something. An article that I read seemed to indicate 3 as some sort of precedent for throwing at somebody and missing. Does anyone know what he did to get the 2 game suspension? I never noticed him anywhere in the brawl.
