Replay, wild cards, interleague play, DH, all star game determining home field for WS seem like pretty significant changes to me.  Didn't they recently ban home plate collisions?  I'd say baseball has changed plenty.  Which isn't a bad thing.

Other than home plate collisions, those are changes to the league, not the game itself.

Replay and DH haven't changed the game?  Surely you are trolling.

Not replay. Replay does not change the rules of the game. It just improves the enforcement. DH does change the game, and for the worse. I missed that one.

The worst rule change ever was when they started ejecting pitchers for intentionally hitting punk ass batters. That and "the catcher can't block home rule" are rough ridin' idiotic. Those should immediately be changed back.

If they want to speed up the game they can stop taking a 2 minutes break every half inning. As with all sports, commercial breaks are what slows the games down most. That and the instant replay crap, which should take 15 seconds but ends up taking 4 minutes.

Alternatively, they could enforce the actual strike zone written in the rules, rather than just the bottom half.

Semantics.  Improving enforcement of the rules "changes the game".  It takes human error out of the game and has significantly changed outcomes of plays if not games

Baseball isn't perfect, sure, but a big part of its appeal is that the game is almost completely unchanged since the turn of the century. A baseball game in 1925 looks pretty much like it does today. Football and basketball are much more constantly evolving and changing.

In some ways you are correct, but in a lot of ways you are ignoring tons of developments in even basic things like the height of the mound, the type of balls and bats used, instant replay, challenges, DH, use of relievers, the number of games in a season, the fact that there are no double headers and almost exclusively night games etc.

agree.

Not really. Replay removes controversy. It's not like a rule change.

i personally don't feel pitchers are the problem, so a pitch clock is unneeded (and kinda gross).  batters are the problem, so hopefully this rule helps.

Would like to see the mound 5 feet closer and a 4th outfielder added.

change the diamond to a pentagon.  lazy ass shortstops now have responsibilities.  basestealing gets easier.

The game has already evolved. They used to take 45mins-1 hour less. And there used to be more offense.

If they really want more run scoring, they should stop testing for roids.

There are so many more pitching changes, and batters who are looking to walk and get deep into counts than there were a generation ago

i havent read any of those rule changes but i am pro pitch clock. were talking like a pretty slow one, maybe 15 seconds to start the wind up and only for the first 6 or 7 innings. also maybe something that makes the batter only be able to put a foot out of the box until he has 2 strikes, then he can step out. the game doesnt need to change drastically, but it needs to be under 3 hours on average.
