I don't think you guys realize how deep that is in Fenway. He had no shot of throwing anyone out who wasn't using a walker.
Also today was the first game this season that a Red Sox starter gave up more than 3 runs. Grats Royals fans.
You can say a lot of things about Frenchie but the dude does have a very strong arm. Don't think I would call it the strongest in baseball but it's still impressive.
That is fair. I think range is much more important than arm strngth and offense is more important than either for an OF, but he does have a really good track record for outfield assists.
I haven't watched enough of the games to gauge his range this season. It seems as if his range was greatly diminished during much of last season. How does it look this year? More similar to last year or 2011, when I thought he had decent range as a RF.
You're right though, OF assists aren't really that important when compared to range and especially offense for corner OFs. It is a great asset to an already complete player though.
