I hope Billy is very successful out there. Its going to be interesting watching him and comparing his numbers with Tori Hunter or whatever RH bat we end up with. But 3/30 is too risky for us.

May your spin classes by swift, and your bat be mighty.

Guys so I was talking to a friend who works at Boulevard, and asking about this crowntown Ale they're releasing. They couldn't use the following words: "Baseball" "Royals" "Royal" "29" "85" and a bunch of other stuff. I was like "Don't you sponsor the Royals? And Sporting let you use their logo right?" She just LOL'd. MLB is pretty uptight.

Hard to believe that MLB has copyrights on numbers. What a bunch of bologna.

Basically the Royals/MLB don't want to show any favoritism to Boulevard when Anheuser Busch sponsors them like 1000 times more. With Sporting, Boulevard I think might actually big a bigger sponsor than AB.

I evaluate the intelligence of a Royals fan based on their response to this news.

billy butler is a top 10 Royal of all time and I'm sad to see him go.

hope he gets a standing ovation his first game back at the K.

I think what my friend Mitch is trying to say is that true love is blind.

too bad he didn't fall far enough for the royals to resign him at an attractive price.  unless salaries are way way up this free agent season, i don't think 3/30 is an attractive price.

I think salaries are pretty much way way up every free agent season. It would be a great project for somebody to put together a study on the inflation rate for salaries in major sports. It would be very helpful in determining whether a team made a good offer on a long term deal or not.

Butler will be fantastic with a Billy Beane/Bob Melvin style approach at the plate, but may have a bit of a transition period to get the yost off, possibly why they signed him for 3 years.

It will be interesting to see how many AB's he gets out there this season, tho.
