If Hosmer would have stayed on first would Gordon have scored?

I guess it was a pretty bad throw to home, but still. I'd take an out at first for a guaranteed run almost any day.

i think he would have, but when hosmer turned he couldn't have known the throw would be so far off.  so he made ny choose between getting an out or taking their chances at home and letting him go to second.  who knows if his thought process was even that complicated, but intentionally or not, it was a really good base running decision.

who would you want in?  the reason he was trying to stretch ventura was because holland is out.  i just would rather have started crow on a clean inning.

though now crow makes yost look smart.

Herrera

and then you have him throw 2?  or make davis throw 2?  no thanks.

i could see an argument for frasor over crow.  or maybe one of the callups, dunno anything about them.

I would rather have gone Hererra, then give Crow the clean 8th, Davis clean 9th. With a runner on I worry about crow

me too and i have nothing to back this up, but it seems like crow lets inherited runners score at a very high rate.

Is there any chance of leaving Herrera in for the 9th inning?

assuming davis does what speed do in the 9th (and the royals offense does what they do), the royals are going to have scored 15 runs over their last 6 games.  an average of 2.5 per game.  and they'll have gone 5-1 in those games.  it's a rawls miracle.
