Ned set everything up to win in the 9th. We had Gordon/Butler/Perez/Willingham. It was the correct strategy but it just didn't work this time

Crow and Hendricks both went to NWA. Their season ends Monday so the Royals can recall both for Tuesday. Hendricks went down to make room for Downs; Royals don't have to make a roster move for Nix until he reports, which is scheduled to be Saturday. Speculation is Colon will be optioned to NWA and come back Tuesday. As long as all are on the 40-man roster on 8-31, they'll be eligible for post-season play. All will be.

Chen will stay, but we won't see much of him.
