I rough ridin' know that. It was a good move at the time that didn't work out. Don't rough ridin' post Frenchy's batting stats as something that should cause outrage. Because he's not the rough ridin' problem.

Somebody should call in, say that they are Dan Glass, and then when you get on, tell him who you really are and ask when he's going to apologize to Jake.

I hope this happened.

Joseph is 6-3 left who is 4-1 with a 2.86 ERA in AAA this year. Seems like a good deal for someone we picked up off the street for 1 year on a team with no chance of doing anythign.

you're just the worst. complete dumbass. of course frenchy's the effing problem. because dayton moore effing loves him. which is a huge effing problem. and glass doesn't give an eff because he rakes in the cash either way which is the biggest effing problem of all and dumbasses like you allow dayton to keep being his special brand of dumbass by hiring dumbasses like frenchy and yuni and the next complete dumbass coming up the atlanta brave rail.

nothing changes. the royals effing suck and nobody wants to acknowledge all the dumbassery that keeps us in perpetual dumbassville. i'm effing losing it.

If Frenchy's batting stats don't cause outrage, pretty much nothing will.  If we weren't a cheap ass team that could maybe absorb 10 million in salary, then yeah he wouldn't be the problem.

Meanwhile Wil Myers rides the bus around AAA and Melky polishes his ASG MVP trophy.

I think there are still tickets available for this Thursday's Frenchy Quarter game bro.  You get a Frenchy T-Shirt and he waves to you in the right field stands!  Who knows, maybe you'll get a real thrill and he'll flash his pearly whites your way.

Let's not go over the Frenchy/Melky deal again.

Fact is whether or not the management made the correct choice during last off-season is no matter.  What matters is that KC keeps trotting a horse out there (Frenchy) who won't race.  Frenchy is a problem, but I think we can all agree that the only thing that really matters going into this off-season is starting pitching.

The Frenchy situation does complicate a few things regarding the pitching situation.  I believe that KC management has held Wil Myers down at least partially because they know that they have to get pitching over the winter.  They probably feel that a top "MLB ready" prospect is more valuable than the chance that Wil comes up and lays an egg.  Otherwise I think we may have seen Wil up here earlier.  That isn't to say the Royals didn't have other options, because they did, but I imagine they might have been hoping that Frenchy would turn it around some and at least bring some type of value.  He hasn't, obviously.

If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

I think their plan was for Frenchy to take the young guys under his wing and be a leader.  Working out great!  Hosmer's been following Frenchy's lead all season!

You can be a leader, and a clubhouse guy as fourth outfielder.  If that's all they wanted out of Frenchy, they could have gotten it.  Also, not worried about Hosmer other than the fact that he is a powerful young hitter who most likely doesn't benefit from the "Sietzer way."

Sietzer's approach is great for slap hitters and guys with no power like Escobar but imo can ruin guys like Hoz, Gordon, Butler, if they buy in, and those are the type of guys you build your team around.  You want those guys to be patient enough to select the pitch they want and then drive it, and keep being selective until a 2-strike count in the pitchers favor.  At that point you want them fouling pitches off until they get the one they want.

It sounds easier said than done, but if you look at the great offensive teams that is how they handle it.  A great player example would be Kevin Youkilis.

One of those dudes was a pretty high prospect heading into 2012.  Pretty good for a 2-month rental of Broxton from a team who has no need for a closer right now.

The Royals absolutely can absorb his salary if they have to, but I think they will find somebody to trade him to this offseason.

The Royals absolutely can absorb his salary if they have to, but I think they will find somebody to trade him to take for free after we eff ourselves in our own anus with the 7 million we still owe him while smiling the entire time this offseason.

fyp. also, we can't really absorb that sort of contract.

glass is gonna top out at about 80 mill in annual salary. next year is another lost year with duffy and paulino out/still recovering so our target year to compete is 2014. factor in arbitration increases for everyone, assume league minimum for bench guys and that leaves us maybe 30 mill to get two good starters. which quite frankly isn't very damn much.

our very small window is going to close fast and swift. it's gonna be heartbreaking.

look at this, you fucks with your heads in the sand:

Royals avg runs per game vs. ERA vs winning %

April: 3.95 rpg vs 4.58 era = 6-15 record (.286)

May: 4.17 rpg vs 4.07 era = 15-13 record (.536)

June: 3.78 rpg vs 3.95 era = 14-13 record (.519)

July: 4.52 rpg vs 5.69 era = 6-19 record (.240)

Notice anything? JFC It's almost an exact correlation between pitching well and winning! Holy crap!

Yeah but eff that, let's focus our attention on an overpaid and underachieving right fielder. Gmafb you guys.
