That was fun!  :driving:

Coors field is nice. Walked up to the "Rooftop Deck" where I guess people buy tickets to watch the game on TV and drink overpriced beer? I've never understood the experience of being in the stadium and watching on TV. Salvy and Omar were studs. And Ned's use of Davis/Holland is exhibit A that he is a bad manager. JMHO

I'm fine with the use of both last night. Davis began warming up while it was still a fairly close game. It made sense to use him then. And once the tie run is on deck I'm all for getting Holland in the game in the 9th. But I'm not a baseball expert and that's JMHO.

you can be fine with how he used them "last night" and i wouldn't necessarily disagree, but i don't think you should view last nights game as a singular event. he is overusing holland and has been for a month. will he collin klein spaghetti brain him? hopefully not.

Hey dumbasses, he handled Holland and Davis just fine last night.  Ned wanted a guaranteed victory, so he brought in Holland at the end.  Go Ned.  He likes to win.

the "davis/holland" are overused complaint is pretty absurd.  those guys aren't overused.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

Holland's IP/appearances stats are almost identical to this point last year. I'm all for resting him when we can, but there's nothing wrong with Ned using him in all save situations. He also made 15 appearances in Sept last year, so get used to seeing him out there...

I mean people would be super, super pissed if Ned didn't put those guys in and we lost, especially Holland in the 9th. Once the Rocks got the tie run to the on deck circle, Holland was going to pitch and I'm fine with that. That's his job.

Color me not worried about the use of either. We are the verge of winning the central and making a playoff run and people still want to bitch. Good grief.

Closers arms are not like starters arms. These guys are fine. Holland threw 1 pitch last night for christ sakes and took it easy warming up. It's going to be ok, you guys! :Ugh:

Holland has pitched 16 times this year on zero days rest. Herrera has pitched 11 times and Davis 10 times.

Milwaukee's Rodriguez and the Cards' Rosenthal lead the bigs with 21 appearances on 0 days rest for comparisons sake. And in terms of inning pitched, out only guy in the top 50 in appearances is Crow.

Ned absolutely needs to rest these guys when he can, but they aren't overused by any means when you compare them to the use of other elite closers (in Holland's case) or set up guys.

exactly.

jesus christ ned is overreacting. this is apparently what he learned in his last two weeks in milwaukee. hyperagressive pitching changes so fans can't give you crap. eff.

overall, my main thing is that i just don't think we have to throw holland every single time it's a three run game or less in the ninth. he threw those guys up three against minn last week and even trotted holland out to start the ninth up three. then they weren't available the next day when yordano pitched so he was forced to leave him in too long. yordano then gave up runs and the royals lost. it's not always about the actual game. sometimes it's about tomorrow. i want those guys for the tomorrows. the non use of frasor in situations like going into the ninth last night is baffling. that is exactly what frasor is there for.

Good points.

I actually thought the move to Bueno was a good one, he just happened to give up his first home run this year.

remember like 300 pages ago when we were discussing Ned having duffy and maybe someone else on an innings limit and he was going to pull the plug on them no matter what if they hit that inning number and I said I would burn down the stadium and possibly the entire city of KC if he did that while we were in a playoff race? I still stand by that and hope that it was just nonsense garbage by whoever was saying it.

Lbbiq here, but Holland is paid to close games right?  Like, it's his job to pitch 1 inning, 3-5 times a week?

Ned already said like a Month ago that there's no limit on the young guys (duffy, ventura) for the rest of the season. Duffy hadn't heard of that until he was questioned in a interview about it. He was happy.
