Although mlb.com reported Uggla's release (a sensible release it would be) the Giants won't confirm it, at least not yet. If and when he's released, Dayton needs to stay away.

i always assume it's strikes balls until i see a leading 3 and then go "oh, yeah..."

The only longtime baseball thing that confused me was shortstop being 6 when you keep score. SS should be 5 and 3rd base should be 6 but that's ok

True, but a long time ago the short stop was often inserted as a 4th outfield player and was more of a roving position, thus the numbering system.
