Tonight is the type of game this team needs to win. Zach McAllister vs. J-Guts. Guts hasn't had any starts worth crap since he beat Greinke on 6/23. He was crap against the Indians on 7/5. We absolutely CANNOT lose the next two and split with Cleveland. This is the type of game where you need an OF of Dyson/Cain/Gordon because of the amount of fly balls Guthrie gives up. Put Billy at 1st, sit Aoki, put Ibanez at DH. McAllister is on 7 days rest and is pretty much the definition of 5th/6th starter, but with our lineup you don't exactly start counting up the runs before they happen. Lefties hit pretty well against him, so Hosmer being out still stings tonight. However if we are patient and can get deep into counts, I think we can get to him. The Indians lineup also kinda owns Guthrie too which should alarm us. Collectively, as a team, their current roster has hit .324/.364/.544 off of him with 12 HRs. That is scary, and we should expect a lot of fly balls, just hopefully they stay in the park.
Gordon hasn't homered since June 21, but will go yard tonight. Outstanding D in the OF (if numb nuts actually uses his head and starts Dyson) and a good showing by our bullpen does enough for us to extend our winning streak to 5.
