Its just one game. Just one hit. But it felt like Billy let out a season's worth of frustration with that swing. He effing demolished that thing man. My head says the sample size of the previous 101 games should outweigh that one swing, but man, what if that gets him going? What if he just has a monster August, and hits like .370/.500/.700 just for a month? I know, I know, its not likely and he's probably just going to struggle to consistently drive the ball. But I'd love nothing more than for Billy to be the guy to get the offense going, and lead us to a playoff birth. He's likely gone next year regardless and I like him enough for what he's done for KC that I want him to be on the team that ends the playoff streak, and I hope he lands somewhere and has another 6 years in the MLB.
I'm really happy we won, and I'm really happy it was Billy.
I'm gonna go ahead and dream again, at least until 6:10 tomorrow.
