I would be fine if Hosmer walked or struck out looking every time he made a plate appearance

He had a couple "tough luck" outs today. Hit the ball hard. But I reserve most of my hate these days for Billy.

Only 3.5 games back with our awesome stretch coming up. Who might the Tigers be playing, you ask? Well 2 of the 3 series they have before facing us are against the A's and Dodgers.

Tigers have the Rays sandwiched between the A's and Dodgers, so that may be a bit of relief for them. In any event, these next two weeks before the AS Break, with KC playing weaker teams before the Tigers, and Detroit playing strong teams (with one exception) before KC may prove in October to have been the most important two week period of the season.

I'm a guy that thinks home runs are overrated, but when you're a DH and have only one more home run than Jarrod Dyson, then something needs to change.

Stopped reading after bold.
If there was a gif of nicname thwarting the attempted-flag-taker and then gesturing him to suck it, followed by motioning for all of Hilton Shelter to boo him louder, it'd be better than that auburn gif.

that would make me love him again.

I was at the game too.  Had my two kids with me who were hot and cranky after the 2nd inning but I forced them to stay until the very end.  Also got the cool KC Wildcats hat.

Also went, took the kid and his GreatGpa...long hot day.  Kstate hats for all.
Royals win, kids fun run after the game!

Heard an  insidery story that butler Gordon and hosmer go out together a lot and gords and hos rip on butler the whole time about everything and it's very funny to see

Story doesn't check out at all. Alex Gordon doesn't go out, and is very nice. Check your F- source.

He had a couple "tough luck" outs today. Hit the ball hard. But I reserve most of my hate these days for Billy.

Criticism of Billy is fair and warranted, but at least he's produced in the past to earn his spot in the lineup. Hosmer is one of 2 golden boys that get special treatment above the team, and its a joke.

Billy's June: .330/.392/.451 <--- Needs more HR but that's pretty good.
Eric's June: .193/.233.294 <----Needs to jump in a river.

Billy's best months have ALWAYS been July and August, and he's playing well right now, so should we expect a good summer from him? Yes of course. But I bet you're still hung up on moronic talking points like "he clogs up the basepath".

Maybe they should let Hosmer spend a week or two in the minors.

I think so, but our lack of organizational depth makes this tough. I guess they'd play Billy at 1st and rotate DHs? For his plate suckage you really would lose a lot in the field without Eric at 1B

I bet Valencia would be just fine at 1st if they gave him a shot at it.

Do you guys ever get annoyed with the "expert" former royals players that come on the radio?  I do.  They are always saying stuff like "don't get excited about a game, it's a long season."

I hate that about baseball...I want to her excited about a game.

No I don't care about the base paths. I just would like our DH to be able to hit a home run every once in a while.  I don't claim to follow baseball super closely like some of you but it seems to me that a DH should hit some home runs.  And as most of you know, home runs are my all time favorite thing so they weigh heavily into my decisions on who to hate.

33 Billy absolutely should be able to hit more HRs.
