How long do we have Ventura for before the Yankees sign him?

Valid question.   Maybe we can sign him to an extension early?   We've done it with several other guys.

If I had to guess, he'd probably tear his rotator cuff whilst signing the extension, and finally seeing that everything is hopeless regarding the Royals, David Glass will sell the team to the Henson estate who will then proceed to trade all of our players for cash considerations and field a team comprised solely of muppets.

Billy clogging things up is definitely an overused taking point. When your obp is terrible, clogging up the bases is your least concern

Yordano isn't a free agent until 2020.  Arbitration is 17 I think.

So would that mean that 17 would be the trade year?

A muppet baseball team would be hilarious. I'd travel to Kansas City to see the muppets take on the big leagues.

Bad thing is, there is nothing you can do with him. You can't trade him.  No one would want that on their team either.  Triple AAA would be a waist of time.  Can you just cut him?  Crap, they might as well use Dyson as a DH. At least if he did get on, there would be a threat of base running ability.

I was able to catch one Royals game since they were playing the Rockies and it was on in my market.  Saw over 10% of their HRs on the season.

The Yankees aren't the only ones to worry about now.   Lots of teams are willing to throw absurd amounts of money around and the Royals aren't one of them.

We hand a guy his first major league save last night. Tonight, we hand a guy his first major league shutout.    :bang:

Ned's Post-Game Gem:  "We're growing as an offense."

Yost knows what he is talking about, there is plenty of season left for the offense to come together. The Tigers are only ahead of us by 7 games. I'm sure the Tigers will wait for us & not get too far ahead before Yost gets his head out of his ass.
