From a kstatefans poster...

"My one beef, which can develop into several beefs, is that they completely lack respect f...or anything that's happened in the past. That's due in large part to the overwhelming ignorance, ignorance more so meaning youth than anything, of the average poster. They are nothing short of a stereotypical KU fan. Hop on the winning bandwagon, poke fun/abandon the teams that are struggling. There is very little separating them from your typical JoCo hawk, which is pathetic. That is the reason I came to this school because there was no sense of entitlement. It was refreshing to be around people who understand how hard our athletes work to give us a good product to support. goEMAW could give two fucks less about that. "5* recruits. Win right now, if you're not then eff you, I'm doing something else." It's K-State. You want that world, go to KU."

So wanting a winning team, good talent, and success instead of 6-6 seasons full of assistant coaches who are unable to land even decent players and a head coach who lacks the guts to fire those inept assistants is a bad thing?

Sounds like a huge Wooly and Doc fan - Build things the right way.  The wins will probably come later.

I'll have to say, I liked KSUFans better than this place. It's just not the same.

Scout board is kinda  and a bit too  :powerespect: .

This place is kinda   :peek: and  but also  and   :flush:.

I miss MJ's drunken rants, ECN's emoticons and that one dude that always did the best-of threads from opposing BBSs <--- punctutation????

Also, this place hasn't achieved anything that holds a candle to the MomBeas and JMART days.

They're here.  Of course, Fatima doesn't have a son playing hoops at KSU and J-Mart isn't covering KSU anymore (at least not at his job, he's still outscooping Kellis).

Yeah, I get that. My point was that there was always some magic happening on the old site. We need the magic.

Like what?  I'm not trying to be an ass, but I can't think of anything other than catsfan0506 that was there and isn't here (and the cf0506 matter is pending litigation), yet it seems like we've added a lot (blog, podcasts, certificate of participation, pak heads everywhere, etc.).

Like everything I've already mentioned plus OOD, EMAW, & the Huggie meltdown all occurred over there. That segment of the fan base got split (evidenced by the numbers), plus something was lost in the transition over here. Was bound to happen. Not a huge deal, just my feelings.

On the positive side, you have no ban threats, no premium, and FTB happened here (right?).

You install a OK_Cat filter, and I'll declare you the winner.

Old board was smarter and funnier.  This board just got way too inclusive.

The only things I don't really like about this board as compared to ksufans is that the layout is still bad.  Just do everything you can to make it look like the old ksufans.  Also, I miss :fiesta:, though I will admit the emoticons over here have been blowin' up lately!   :emawkid:

By the way, I think the Cigars thread over here is better than just about everything from ksufans that was mentioned earlier.  Cigars thread is so comprehensive it's insane.  Will be a really great source of info/chronicle-r of meltdowns years from now.  Really returns the Information Superhighway-ness to the internet.

the set up of the old board w/ mj running it and having premium and doing stupid things and people arguing with him and terry telling people to go kill themselves was part of the charm and part of what made made the old place great. constant battle of wills. kind of like having to sneak out of your parents house and have someones older sister buy you booze so your one friend with the car could drive you around that night made highschool parties great. the old place was like constantly trying to get away with things and there's nothing to try to get away with over here. everybody has money and a car and is old enough to buy booze, so some of the fun is no longer there.

popped my bbs'ing cherry over there...so i guess that means something. I'm just happy to be at a place where i have a decent idea of what's going on(impossible to know everything with the fuckers that populate this place.)
Sometimes I think of the Book of Job and how God likes to really eff with people.
