In that case Wazzu posts should be on the look out for an unprovoked Asprilla haymaker.

He kinda sticks out like a sore thumb right now. Refs will be all in his ass because how much bigger he is than the opponents who guard him. I wish he had a baseline step-back jumpshot. This junkyard gameplan of him backing down opponents on the block and crashing into  people on the offensive glass makes him a target for foul calls. As big as he is, he needs more inside game. Defensively, he is better than I expected. He doesn't swat at shots like JO, and he boards better in traffic than everyone who has seen minutes inside.

Really.  Our zone offense sucked much of the time he was in b/c he had no idea what to do or where to be.

Lol yeah, of all the things to point out... Freddy is a big strong presence around the basket and I like his instincts so far on defense and the way he uses his body, but this wasn't the kind of game his offense is going to shine in, and he certainly looked uncomfortable as hell against the zone for the most part.

If you didn't think Ass puh rilla was solid against the zone, you weren't watching very closely. In the 2nd half when they went exclusively zone, the gorilla was the only proficient post player at flashing high and distributing to the wings. I.e. every one of irvings wide open 3s.

of all games to criticize our zone offense...

bullshit.  samuels had an assist to macgruder for a 3 and judge hit jhr on the baseline for an easy layup.  both from the high post.

Good points.  I didn't think he was terrible at times and is a good passer, but it seemed there were also times when he clearly didn't know what he was doing.  I think he'll be a very good player once he catches up to the speed and physical play here.

JHR is rebounding at higher level than anyone on the team IMO.

The numbers, at least from today, would say you are correct.

I see that. I knew JO had more boards, my comment is regarding JO's hands and the lack there of.  He can't catch for crap. I've seen Freddy pull down a few one-handed.  Of all our bigs, I trust Jamar and Freddys hands the most.

I would agree with that.  Frank took JO out of the game at least once b/c of his lack of hands..

Luis Colon type career so far.

I don't think he's anything like Colon. Wally Judge is more similar to Colon than Freddy Asprilla.
