The asterisk is there to indicate that one of the conferences doesn't use all of their bids, so since there could be 9 big12 teams eligible with only 8 big12 bowl bids foxsports is predicting a Big12 school into that bowl.

We go to a Texas Bowl and we likely bring an assload of fans.  Not so much in NYC.  Plus, I prefer to play in a state with a gazillion recruits vs a gazillion homeless people.

Espn has us in Yankee Stadium vs. Syracuse.  I bet they'll work hard to get Syracuse or Rutgers in that game.  Finalize our best of 3 series with Syracuse in bowl games?

Anyone who thinks NYC is some great destination is definitely a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!), from GC, or currently living in the nation's lower intestine- Oklahoma.  NYC is a shithole and that bowl offers (by far) the fewest possible advantages for our fans and our team.  Playing football in a baseball only stadium is rough ridin' stupid.

Holidays in and out of NYC are going to be expensive as hell, so are hotels and everything else.  Packing 4 folks in a car and driving to a bowl is much more cost effective.  Plus, I don't want to go somewhere colder than Kansas in late December/early January.  San Diego, PHX, even Houston would be a nice little vacation from winter.
